Custom Built Homes
The History Of Junger Homes
Matt Junger’s home building and architectural linage dates back four generations to the late 1800s to Cincinnati, Ohio and his great grandfather Mathias Frank Junger. Mathias, a talented carpenter, moved from Austria to the United States and started Mathias and Sons Home Building Company. The family business included his son Frank, an Army pilot who received his architecture degree from the University of Cincinnati. Frank’s son, Philip also studied architecture at the University of Florida and is a noted architect in Atlanta. Today, Matt caries on the family tradition as a home builder. With fifteen years of fine home building experience in Atlanta and Houston, Matt’s company Junger Homes is dedicated to achieving the boldest designed and highest quality homes in Atlanta.
Matt’s goal is to bring every client’s vision to life. Whether it is a custom design build or a collaborative project with architects and interior designers, Matt works to create unique livable homes that meet his client’s every need. Building homes every day, Matt gets to experience the fun, excitement, and rewards of the creative process. Because he believes his clients are partners in the home building process, it is important that they share in this experience and remain actively involved in all stages of the project.
The key to success on any project is proper evaluation of the scope of work and budget during the pre-construction phase. The pre-construction phase is absolutely essential to achieving expected outcomes. Just like a great paint job, 85% of the job is spent on preparation: caulking, priming, sanding, and more sanding, until the walls are ready. Only about 15% of your time is actually spent on the painting. While it is always tempting to rush right into the excitement of the building phase, Matt works with clients to prepare project specs, a complete budget, and a realistic schedule before any work is begun. This strict attention to detail in the pre-construction phase keeps your job organized and focused.
Matt’s love for building and architecture is the driving force behind his successful career, but his love of teamwork and camaraderie is what sets his company apart from the rest. Matt knows that a great builder is only as good as the tradespersons he uses on the job. For the past 15 years, Matt has embraced the role of leader and general manager of his team. Like a baseball General Manager whose job is to evaluate players’ performance from game to game, and, with a given budget, recruit the best players available to build a winning team, Matt works with only the most skilled and professional crews. He continually evaluates performance and quality of work to ensure that the team who builds your home is the most talented and professional in Atlanta.
